Normal aging

By Dr.Andreas Trønnes, Lege from Aesthetic Studio Oslo

As we get older, both our body and face change. This is part of what we call the normal aging process, and involves, among other things, the formation of static wrinkles and skin folds, as well as a loss of volume in the fat pads of the face and the skeleton becomes smaller (see figure 1 - signs of normal ageing).

From figure 1 we can see typical signs of aging with:

  • Wrinkles and lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows and around the eyes

  • Formation of lines in the tear trough (Tear Trough)

  • Formation of lines from the nose to the corner of the mouth (Nasolabial Line/fold)

  • Formation of lines from the corner of the mouth to the jaw line

  • Signs of sagging skin next to the chin (jowls)

  • Flattening of cheeks

  • Excavation of the temple

This together gives an older appearance and many tell us that they see a different person in the mirror than the person they feel like on the inside. Several also say that they get comments because it looks like they are "tired" or "tired", others say that they are bothered because their grandchildren ask why they look so "angry". How we look is not only about appearance, but also about non-verbal communication and self-esteem.

For example, we can see from Disney films that "villains" are portrayed with certain typical aging features that many identify with looking precisely "angry" or "unnatural" (see figure 2). Here you can see, among other things, "spock brows", clear tear pits, nasolabial folds, a wide jaw and thin/skinny hands. This is of course put to the fore, and in connection with several other factors.

For us, it is important to provide a sober offer to those who want to treat the signs of ageing. We do this with, among other things:

We also offer complete treatment packages, which include Facial Contour, Profile Harmonisation, and Structural Rejuvenation.

Disclaimer:

It is important for us to emphasize that this is normal process which in no way require treatment, but which can be treated if desired.
