What treatments do I recommend before Christmas?
By cosmetic nurse Mia Sunde at Aesthetic Studio Oslo.
December is fast approaching, which for many means a hectic month filled with Christmas parties, Christmas gift shopping and activities with children/family to be completed before the end of the year.
In addition to this, we're coming off a few months of heavy rain and cold - quite simply, a real fall. The summer glow is long gone and many people feel their skin has turned gray, dull and dry. Make-up doesn't look as good anymore, and that little touch you felt you had a few months ago is nowhere to be found.
Why not take a step back and treat yourself to a skin treatment that brings life and glow back to your skin? Here are my recommendations for getting this back before the holiday season gets into full swing.
I just have to start by saying that everything starts with a good foundation, so the most important thing you can do is to invest in a good home program that is adapted to your skin and skin condition. Having said that, there are also some quick fixes for those of you who are a little behind and want a quick and easy solution to look a little fresher for the Christmas party or Christmas Eve.
My all-time favorite treatment is and always will be a good chemical peel. There are many to choose from, so it's important to choose a peel that suits exactly what you want to work on. Whether this is just a glow just before a special event that evening, or if you want a really good and deep exfoliation of the skin, which can cause some flaking and downtime. But the glow this gives you is something you'll love. The strongest chemical peels are performed in the clinic, but we have many great options for home use.
Wrinkle treatments are also a big favorite of mine. Wrinkle treatments in the upper part of the face will help to give a more obvious look, and as an extra little plus for us women, the makeup will sit even better. Remember that wrinkle treatments can take up to 2 weeks before you see complete results, so remember to book an appointment as early as possible.
Last but not least, let's not forget microneedling. Microneedling is a skin-improving treatment that uses tiny needles to create thousands of microchannels in the skin. The depth of the needle is adjusted from 0.25 mm - 2.5 mm, depending on what you want to work on. Microneedling helps with fine lines, wrinkles, acne, scars, pigmentation and stretch marks, as well as stimulating collagen and elastin production in the skin.
